Noble Allegany Windpark, NY

With its good wind resource, the Noble Allegany Windpark is ideally positioned to provide clean energy and economic benefits resulting from a state-wide initiative to get more energy from renewable sources. Noble Environmental Power proposes to install 55 turbines in the town of Centerville and 12 in the town of Rushford, with construction to begin in 2009. The 67 turbine, 100.5 megawatt windpark would yield the following benefits for the communities of Centerville and Rushford:

	Job Creation The Noble Allegany Windpark will create a significant number of new jobs during construction, and several long-term, well-paying jobs when operational. Noble Environmental Power is committed to hiring qualified residents and companies from local and regional New York communities.

	Clean energy Wind energy is 100% clean and renewable. Unlike fossil fuel power plants, wind energy creates no pollution -- no acid rain, no smog, and no mercury, which is a harmful toxin, particularly to women and children. Read more about energy and the environment on our FAQs page. The Noble Allegany Windpark will create enough clean energy to provide the annual electricity needs of approximately 33,500 homes. To make that much energy from coal, over 20 years, you would have to burn 2.28 million tons of coal - it would take a train 259 miles long to hold that much coal!

	Economic benefits PILOT payments from the Noble Allegany Windpark will provide hundreds of thousands of dollars of new income to the schools, towns, and county every year. This money can be used to reduce local taxes and improve local services. Easement payments to participating landowners and purchases from local vendors and service providers will significantly contribute to the local economy. Permitting Information

On September 5, 2007, Noble Enviromental Power submitted an application to the town of Centerville, NY to construct wind energy facilities within the towns of Centerville and Rushford, NY. Read about the application filing in the October 2007 issue of Noble News - the Allegany County Edition.

	The application to the town of Centerville, NY kicked off the New York State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) process. Noble has prepared and submitted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS), which assesses the environmental impact of the project, evaluates reasonable alternatives, and examines potential mitigation measures.
