Noble Ball Hill Windpark, NY

At a glance:

Location: Chautauqua County, New York

Size: Approximately 94.5 MW

Status: Under Development

With its excellent wind resource, the Noble Ball Hill Windpark is ideally positioned to provide economic and clean energy benefits resulting from a state-wide initiative to increase electric power generation from renewable energy sources.

Recently, Noble has completed the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS); click here to view the CURRENT FACILITY MAP.

The Noble Ball Hill Windpark, approximately 94.5 megawatts, would yield the following benefits for its host communities:

Job creation

Clean energy

  • Wind energy is 100% clean and renewable. Unlike fossil fuel power plants, wind energy creates no pollution - no acid rain, no smog, and no mercury, which is a harmful toxin, particulary to women and children. Read more about energy and the environment on our FAQs page.
  • The Noble Ball Hill Windpark could create enough clean energy to provide the annual electricity needs of approximately 31,500 homes - that's nearly 50% of the housing units in Chautauqua County! Ever wonder how the "homes powered" number is calculated? Click here to find out.
  • To make that much energy from coal, over 20 years you’d have to burn 2.14 million tons of coal – it would take a train 243 miles long to hold that much coal!
