Supervisors: Vice President, Project Management
Location: Altona, NY

- Management overall design, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of assigned project
- Maintains overall responsibility for success in meeting established safety, quality, schedule and budget targets for assigned project
- Develops thorough working knowledge of all contracts, information, drawings, sketches, data sheets, specifications, permits and other requirements pertaining to the assigned project
- Approves the initial scope recommendations for the scope of each subcontractor using model scopes from Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Works with Procurement, Engineering and the Project Team to finalize bid and award scope documents
- Approves the pre-qualified list of competent bidders for intended scope as prepared by Procurement and the Project Team
- Approves the bid package for subcontractors
- Oversees the definition of the intended distribution of the invitation to bid and request for proposals
- Oversees the receipt and evaluation of subcontractor bids along with Procurement and Engineering Teams and assists in the assembly of a bid comparison, recommend short list, and work with Project and Procurement Teams to negotiate final subcontract package; signs-off on recommendation of award to Senior Management
- Oversees and reviews flow of submittals receipt, processing, review, approval or resolution of issues and return to subcontractors
- Performs monthly reviews of records of subcontracts - issues, work orders, change orders, and amendments as appropriate during execution of subcontract
- Oversees negotiation of all extra work related to assigned subcontractors
- Oversees and reviews flow of all documents to and from subcontractors including correspondence, e-mail, RFIs, change requests, etc.
- Works with Document Control to approve all required standard distribution lists related to assigned subcontractors and their work
- Oversees and reviews flow of monthly applications for payment – approves percent complete, reviews any change orders claimed, negotiates with subcontractor as required and signs-off
- Works with Project Team to perform subcontract closeout process and issues required paperwork
- Oversees all subcontractor interactions with Safety, QA/QC, Project Controls and other departments
- Maintains thorough familiarity with any open safety or quality issues and works to support all parties in rapid resolution of open issues
- Manages the receipt of all input needed and ensures timely issuance of all regularly scheduled reporting on status of projects under construction or in pre-construction phases
- Co-manages with Project Controls group the preparation of all schedules, progress and cost updates for project
- Establishes schedule of minimum required project meetings and attends and/or chairs meetings as appropriate
- Participates in monthly project reviews with Senior Management to report and discuss current project status and existing issues
- Supervises assigned Field Engineers in their role in support of performing tasks noted above

Requirements for Job
- Education: BS/BA in Engineering, Management or relevant program of study, or equivalent military or industry experience
- Experience:
- 5 to 10 years minimum construction management experience in leadership position
- Background in cost or scheduling functions a significant plus
- Strong computer skills
