• Manages and oversees meteorological tower installation
• Coordinates with and manages on-site contractor
• Travels to remote sites often for several days at a time
• Performs routine and emergency maintenance of meteorological towers
• Performs troubleshooting sensor and/or data logger issues
• Deploys and sets-up SODAR instrumentation
• Documents site visits and sensor issues
• Maintains meta-data from tower network
• Assists in siting of meteorological towers
• Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts as they arise
• Develops expertise in meteorological instrumentation and recommends field program improvements accordingly
• Assists with miscellaneous tasks as requested

• Education: B.S. (or A.S.) degree in meteorology, engineering, electronics or related field or demonstrated equivalent experience

• Experience/Skills:
  • Ability to work outdoors in variable and extreme weather conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (45 pounds and over)
  • Valid Class D drivers license
  • Some experience or education in meteorological instrumentation desired
  • Experience with instrumentation interface software and data loggers desired
  • Willing to travel up to 75% of the time
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently
  • Ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts
