Supervisor: Meteorology Manager
Locations: Essex, CT

- Manages and oversees meteorological tower installation
- Coordinates with and manages on-site contractor
- Travels to remote sites often for several days at a time
- Performs routine and emergency maintenance of meteorological towers
- Performs troubleshooting sensor and/or data logger issues
- Deploys and sets-up SODAR instrumentation
- Documents site visits and sensor issues
- Maintains meta-data from tower network
- Assists in siting of meteorological towers
- Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts as they arise
- Develops expertise in meteorological instrumentation and recommends field program improvements accordingly
- Assists with miscellaneous tasks as requested

Requirements for Job
- Education: B.S. (or A.S.) degree in meteorology, engineering, electronics or related field or demonstrated equivalent experience
- Experience/Skills:
- Ability to work outdoors in variable and extreme weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (45 pounds and over)
- Valid Class D drivers license
- Some experience or education in meteorological instrumentation desired
- Experience with instrumentation interface software and data loggers desired
- Willing to travel up to 75% of the time
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently
- Ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts
