Corporate Director, QA/QC

Supervisors: Senior Vice President, Construction and Operations

Location: Essex, CT

Responsibilities

  • Provides for the hiring, training and supervision of QA/QC personnel to:

    • Perform receiving inspections
    • Provide QA input during submittal reviews
    • Perform Sub-Contractor Quality Plan Review during pre-qualification of contractors and during contract award process 
    • Perform QA Review of Material Requisitions
    • Coordinate with Project Manager on submission and tracking of all POs and requisitions for all materials
    • Work with material management team to coordinate inspections during delivery of all materials to project areas, warehouses and laydown yards
    • Implement of Quality Program including creation and or confirmation of all checklists required to support plan
    • Work with subcontractors when their quality plans do not comply with Noble minimums to upgrade their plans or adopt Noble plan
    • Monitor 3rd party QA inspectors work and logging issues
    • Notify subcontractors of QC issues and issuing appropriate requests for corrective action
    • Review corrective action reports and sign-off on all final resolutions
    • Audit GE component records and coordinating compilation of complete QA document sets for all turbines as they are installed

  • Provides regularly scheduled reporting on status of all projects under construction, in
    pre-construction or under development
  • Coordinates with Project Controls group on schedule updates for all projects
  • Provides regular input to and leads weekly training meetings
  • Initiates and/or supervises any required updates to Quality Plan and matrices to meet changing project requirements
  • Signs off on all subcontractor quality plans
  • Performs internal Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) compliance audits
  • Works with Development and Engineering Teams to perform audits during pre-construction activities (to ensure quality is built into the project and not just inspected in)
  • Develops and tracks all Master Service Agreements and Task Orders related to the inspection of windpark facilities
  • Assists in the development and approval of all SOPs for windpark design and procurement related topics

Requirements for Job
  • Education: BS/BA in Quality Engineering, Management or relevant program of study, or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience:
    • 5 to 10 years minimum QA/QC experience
    • Certified QA or QC inspector
